Tech Expo Humber Welcomes Tech Giants IBM and Twitter To Hull

Businesses from across the region, alongside tech giants IBM and Twitter, join forces this October to celebrate the region's first Tech Expo.

Highlighting the incredible opportunities in digital and tech across Hull and East Yorkshire, Tech Expo Humber is the brainchild of Antonio Tombanane, MD of GB Recruitment.

"We are excited to host and organise Tech Expo Humber; this is an opportunity for the region to put itself on the map for tech," Antonio enthuses.

“We want to showcase our innovation, but also to inspire young people to get into tech.”

C4DI is a strategic partner and we've been working closely with Antonio and GB Recruitment to turn their ideas into a reality.

"What started as a day to engage local schools and showcase opportunities in the region's tech industry, has now turned into a huge two-day high-profile and nationally-recognised event," David Keel, Chair of C4DI, tells us.

"C4DI's section at the Expo is going to be jam-packed full of tech companies and digital startups, including NFire Labs, Arc Studios, Nerdonic, Moodbeam, 54 Degrees North, Bombyx PLM and Influence Media, as well as local technical college Ron Dearing UTC."

On top of all of this, there's an exciting line up of speakers across both of the days, including VP of Twitter Europe, Global Sales Leader at LinuxONE IBM, Innovation Leader at TES Enterprise Solutions & Cognition Foundry and Sean Royce, the Managing Director of KCOM.

Meanwhile, familiar faces from the C4DI community will also have a chance to tell their stories.

Matt Dass, Founder and Owner of EON Visual Media, Sarah Pashley, Principal at Ron Dearing UTC, Claire Clarke, Director of Development at Sauce, and our very own Community Manager Louise Cooke will be discussing a wide variety of topics and their experiences working in the tech industry.

Bombyx PLM's Lucy Blackley will take to the stage to discuss her journey transitioning from fashion to tech as she explores "A Woman's API Between Style and Substance".

"We’re delighted to be exhibiting as part of the C4DI family, and especially as we’re growing not only as a software solution but as a brand," Lucy exclaims.

"We want to put a face to our solution, and build upon those relationships that we are forming and have already formed within the product design industry."

The two-dayer will climax with the annual Hull and Humber Tech Awards (formerly known as The Digital Awards), where businesses and individuals who are passionate about tech and digital come together to recognise their achievements and look to the future of innovation in Hull and the surrounding areas.
